1912 Premier 2,5 HP

A few picture galleries of my 1912 2,5 HP Premier. This bike is very, very different from my Scotts but just as nice!

My first real veteran bike! It is a 1912 Premier 2,5 hp and I am very pleased with it! With no gears, no kickstarter, no clutch and practically no brakes it definitely is a completely different ride from a Scott. But big fun all the same. I have never had a machine that is so relaxing to ride.

I bought the bike from Verralls in Handcross, Sussex. I had seen the bike for sale for a while and I thought it would be a nice entry in the pioneer scene as it was from 1912 and held a Pioneer Certificate. I also did the Pioneer Run a few times.
The contact with the guys at Verralls was very nice and after some careful consideration I decided to buy the bike. I had it transported to me by Chas Mortimer again as he handled my Scott Squirrel very well before.

Since I have owned the bike I have done a few VMC rallies with it and I enjoy it very much. I have also nickel plated a few parts, fitted a new (old stock) saddle and made the rear brake perform a lot better. More info about this in my blog posts on this subjects.

My wife made two video clips of me riding on the Premier for the first time:

The bike is currently in parts as it is in need of a new bigend and piston. The parts have finally arrived back from Alpha Bearings recently so it is now just a question of time…
