1990 Yamaha SRX

Some pictures I took when my SRX was completely finished after the respray. Since then a stainless exhaust has been fitted.

Having only ridden old scooters and motorcycles for years, the wish to ride something more modern just grew stronger and stronger…
So, end of July 2006, I bought this very nice Yamaha super single. Being a single cylinder fan (with some exceptions of course) this bike had been one of my favourites ever since I got my licence.

It is a classically styled 600cc 4 valve single in a, for its time, very modern frame. The machine is very light and basic, for instance it does not even have an electric starter!

Just after the bike was finally ready to roll a delivery van decided to back up over it…. This resulted in quite some damage (gladly not physical). My local dealer did a very good job with the insurance company… he got all damage paid for although the bike was an economical write off! With that money I could have it resprayed (it was black when I bought it) and have the front end repaired.

The Yamaha has since then been a little bit modified with a mono seat, open air filters and a Dynojet kit. The last addition is a nice stainless exhaust. The engine has been overhauled too. Some time ago I have had it on the dyno and after some fiddling it now has 40 BHP at the rear wheel and is a joy to ride!
