Fist time starting up my 1923 Scott
Trying to start my just arrived 1923 Scott Squirrel for the very first time after she arrived from Austria. Not that easy as the kickstarter slipped badly.

Yes, she runs. Probably for the first time in quite a while… It sure made me smile from ear to ear… and it still does!
Free wheeling… or not?
It looks like the bike is in gear… Or is the rear wheel just free wheeling?

Look at that chains whirring around. There are five on a two speed Scott! Keeping them all correctly tensioned can cause a severe headache…
Just before take off
Well, the moment of my very first ride on the little two speeder was almost there!
There we go!
This first trip up and down the road was the start of a long lasting love (and sometimes also hate) relationship with this little bike which is in my opinion one of the best vintage bikes ever made. Or at least one of the best performing ones.

Riding a Scott certainly is not the most environmentally friendly way of transport. I think I will just have to buy a few more energy saving light bulbs to compensate…
